Entrants above the line hold qualifying places as the table stands now. The line follows the published ranking policy; it is not a final placement until the stage is over.
When entrants have the same points, the published tiebreak criteria are applied in the order the policy names them. Each criterion has its own column, so you can see which one separated them.
- Pts
- The match points this entrant has earned from recorded results, on the scale the format awards for a win, a tie and a loss. It is the same number as the points column, and a higher total ranks higher.
- Buch
- The strength of the opposition: the scores of every opponent this entrant faced, added together. A high Buchholz means they took their points against opponents who were doing well themselves.
- SB
- Each opponent’s score counted only as far as this entrant took points from them: all of it for a win, half of it for a tie, none of it for a loss. It rewards beating the opponents who finished high.
- W
- How many matches this entrant won outright. Ties and losses do not count here, so two entrants level on points can still be separated by who won more often.
- Seed
- The entrant’s place in the published starting order. This criterion runs the other way round: a lower seed number ranks higher. A policy ends on it so that the table always has one definite order.
